Rosary Leader: Lead the rosary on Saturdays and Sundays 25 minutes before Mass begins.
Sound (Sundays only): Run the sound system at Harrisburg High School for the Sunday Mass.
Adult Formation
“Walk with One” Bootcamp: A 6-week introductory series on practical evangelization.
Men’s Book Group: Weekly gathering for men for fellowship and to discuss a shared reading.
JPII Women’s Book Group: Women looking to grow in our knowledge of faith and fellowship in our church community.
Spring Study Series: Topic and Dates TBA.

Service
St. John Bosco Project for Backpacks and School Supplies: Inspired by St. John Bosco, we are committed to ensuringthat every student has the tools he or she needs to succeed by providing necessary backpacks and school supplies.
St. Lawrence’s Stocking the Pantry for the Holidays Drive: Inspired by St. Lawrence, let’s stock the Harrisburg area Food Pantry this holiday season to ensure that all of our neighbors have the food and household supplies they need.
The Banquet (during Advent and Lent): A volunteer-based meal ministry.

Children and Family Formation
Pre-K - 6th Grade Catechist: Teach Religious Education to the children on Sunday mornings after Mass.
Pre-K - 6th Grade Classroom Assistant: Assist the catechists as needed.
Mighty Man or Woman of Valor: Set up the Religious Ed “classrooms” half an hour before Mass; tear down after RE.
2nd Grade Sacramental Retreats: Serve in up to 4 different Saturday mornings by helping 2nd Graders prepare for
their sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.
Youth Ministry
Middle School Core Team: Assist leaders in facilitating a youth group-style RE experience for Middle Schoolers. Meets
at Saint Mary in the Parish Hall at 4:30 PM on Sundays.
High School Core Team: Assist leaders in facilitating a youth group-style RE experience for High Schoolers. Meets at
Saint Mary in the Parish Hall at 7 PM on Sundays.
Feed the T(w)eens!: Prepare and serve a meal to Middle and High School students for their Youth Fellowship Meal.
Dinner is at 6 PM on Sundays at Saint Mary.
Confirmation Help (Sept - Jan): Assist Coordinator of Youth Discipleship in Confirmation prep for 10th Graders -
including small group facilitation.

Pastorate Options
Catholic Women’s Professional League: Catholic women living out the vocation for which they were created to
transform the world by the light of His love.
Divine Mercy Pastorate Creation Care Ministry: Together, as a people of God, we are called to care for creation, its
people, and the common good.
Homebound Ministry: To visit and/or be a Eucharistic Minister for those who are sick, of old age, or otherwise unable to
attend Sunday Mass (and their caregivers) in their home.
Hospice Ministry: To visit and/or be a Eucharistic Minister for parishioners and their families who have a loved one who
has entered end-of-life care.
Legion of Mary: The mission is to encourage devotion to Our Lord through His Blessed Mother and praying the Rosary.
St. Patrick Newman Meals: Providing meals following the 5 PM Mass at Christ the King for Saint Patrick Newman
Club students.
Nursing Home Extraordinary Ministry: Bringing Communion to nursing homes residents following the 8 AM Sunday
Mass at Christ the King.
Seven Sisters Apostolate: Pray a holy hour in front of the tabernacle one day each week for one of our priests.
SHE - Shall Be Called Woman: This is a program for all women to both give and receive within a formational and
relational group setting, regardless of their state or season in life.
That Man is You: Our mission is to grow closer in relationship with Jesus Christ to better imitate Him in all aspects of
life - most especially as husbands, fathers, and leaders in the community.
Well-Read Mom: If you are interested in accompanying other women in reading the classics, great books, and timeless
spiritual works from the western and Catholic traditions, Well-Read Mom is for you.

Respect Life/Culture of Life Ministry: Helping to raise awareness regarding life issues in the parish; advocating for the
most vulnerable in society - the unborn, children, special needs, and the elderly.
“Guess Who is Coming to Dinner”: A ministry started at St. Mary designed to promote and strengthen our parish
community by providing a chance to meet those familiar faces we see each week while having fun at the same time.

Liturgical Ministries
Lector, Greeter, Ushers, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion....
Rosary Leader: Lead the rosary at 4PM Saturday Mass and 9 AM Sunday Mass 30 minutes before Mass begins.
Gift Card Sales: Sell gift cards to local businesses in the hallway of St. Mary immediately after Mass.
Head Usher: Organizes the ushers, determines order and placement for collecting the offering and dismissing for
Communion, monitors the collection and gift card box, and is trained for emergencies.

Adult Formation
“Walk with One” Bootcamp: A 6-week introductory series on practical evangelization. Starting Monday, October 14 at
noon in the Saint Mary Parish Hall.
Men’s Bible Study Group: Meets Tuesdays at noon with Dcn. Henry. A Bible study focusing on Scripture readings for next Sunday.
Bible Study Group: Meets Wednesday mornings with Dcn. Ridder. The mission of this study is to open the relevance of Scripture and its importance in our daily lives.
Women’s Scripture Study: Wednesday mornings after Mass in the Parish Hall. A Scripture study focusing on the upcoming Sunday readings.

Paraish Life and Service
Church Decorating: Decorate the church for Christmas, Holy Week, and Easter.
Outdoor Plant Care: Take care of the plants surrounding the Saint Mary Church campus.
Eucharistic Adoration: Sign up to spend an hour with Our Lord. Wednesdays, after Mass until 3 PM.
The Banquet: A volunteer-based meal ministry.
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul: Serve the needs of the poor by growing in holiness and striving for a more just world.
Prayer Chain: Join our prayer chain to support and uplift one another in prayer.
Women’s Altar Society: Women’s groups that focus on social, service, and fundraising.
Catholic Daughters of America: Strive to embrace the principle of “faith working through love” in the promotion of human rights and human dignity.
Culture of Life Committee: The mission is to pray, educate, and serve the parish of Saint Mary and the community by promoting a culture of life from conception to life’s natural end.
Knights of Columbus: We are a fraternal order of Catholic men that works to serve our parish and community.
Serra Vocations Ministry: Supports and promotes vocations to priesthood and the religious life through prayer, support for seminarian education, and adopting a seminarian.
